Please provide details of your post-MBA career plans. The statement should not exceed 500 words and must address the following:

  • What are your short- and long-term career objectives? How will the Cambridge MBA equip you to achieve these?
  • Looking at your short-term career goal, describe the research you have done to understand how this industry/role/location recruits MBA talent and what they are looking for in a candidate.
  • How do you meet the requirements of your short-term career goal? What preparation are you doing now?

Prompt 1 –

Candidates are expected to describe both their short- and long-term career goals after getting an MBA degree. Then, as is the case with most colleges, a strong response to this question must demonstrate an awareness of the special features of the Judge’s curriculum. You must draw clear, convincing linkages between the Cambridge MBA’s courses and how they will help you achieve your objectives. It will be beneficial in this case to take the time to learn about the curriculum, unique programs, and extracurricular activities offered by the school, whether through an online admissions event or discussions with alumni.

Many candidates believe they do not need to define their objectives in detail or that it is preferable to “keep their choices open.” However, if you are submitting an application to a top business school, your objectives must be crystal clear. 

Prompt 2 – 

Discussing research, such as going through employment reports, available career services, or networking on LinkedIn, would best help Judge’s second prompt. For instance,  98 percent of the most recent class moved their nation of residence, their job, or their industrial area, it appears that the adcom is searching for candidates who can adapt to and welcome change.

Discuss how recruiters are selecting students at Judge.  This is crucial because Cambridge wants to know that you have carefully considered your ambitions, that you will make wise use of their MBA, and that you will promote their reputation. This section can serve as a great transition between what experience you already have and what you still need to gain in terms of skills and knowledge.

Prompt 3 – 

Candidates will need to consider their credentials and use caution while responding to this aspect of the prompt because it is explicitly asked that they list how they are already prepared for the short term and detail their current related actions. This can naturally result from a succinct career overview as one would be able to use their prior actions as evidence of their present skills. This would be the spot to mention any additional job tasks you have taken on or any industry-related coursework you have enrolled in.

Describe a difficult decision that you had to make. What did you learn from this and how have you changed as a result? (up to 200 words)

The purpose of this prompt is to get you thinking about what you learn when things aren’t as cut-and-dry as you’d like them to be or when you have to make a sacrifice of some sort. You can share a professional or a personal/ familial/ communal experience. Share a story when something was on the line so that the reader may feel and understand that your choice carried some risk. The reader must comprehend that you faced an unquestionable issue and had to carefully consider your selections. Take the reader through your decision-making process in your essay while briefly mentioning the numerous potential results or repercussions of your various options.

Effective replies will outline the crucial who, what, when, and where of the circumstance in just one or two sentences, identifying all relevant parties and outlining what was at risk for you. A minimum of one-third of the essay should be devoted by applicants to discussing what the experience taught them and/or how they improved as a consequence. Lastly, if there is room, it would be helpful to mention how this experience has prepared them to contribute to the Judge community and/or their chosen post-MBA business or area. 

Cambridge / Judge Essay 3

Describe a time where you worked with a team on a project. What did you learn from the experience and how might you approach it differently today? (up to 200 words)

Judge simply wants to know how you approach and interact with individuals who have varied backgrounds, viewpoints, and principles.They are also looking for proof that you are capable of listening, reflecting, learning, and developing. Use a narrative style to describe the way you worked with the rest of your group, highlighting both your contributions and the contributions of the others. Think about describing an instance where the knowledge, suggestions, or motivation you gained from your teammate(s) affected your decisions while you worked toward your common objective and have since remained with you.

Finally, discuss how you would approach the issue differently now to round out your conclusion. If you believe your team could have handled the challenge better, be sure to talk about the steps you would take to improve the team’s performance. As an alternative, you could also explain how your increased leadership expertise has given you the capacity to support the team in completing the assignment even more effectively. In any case, be careful to include clear examples of what you would change and why you think this would be a preferable course of action.

Cambridge / Judge Essay 4

If you could give one piece of advice to your 18-year-old self, what would it be? (up to 200 words)

The adcom is attempting to bring up a shortcoming you had at the time, you shall elaborate on how you overcame it to demonstrate your capacity for growth. It would be great if you followed any advice you would offer yourself later in life, or at the very least had a plan to follow it soon. Maybe you would have told yourself to travel more, and as a result, you’ve worked on overseas projects and had well-planned vacations. If you had trouble in college, this would be a good time to talk about how disciplined you’ve become or how your learning approach has evolved.

In terms of structure, you can start either by telling us the story of what happened since you were 18, the advice you would have given yourself, and why you would want to change this aspect of your life given the experiences, skills, or realizations you’ve had in your later life. Or, you can start with the advice, explain the story of what happened, then explain why you would want to change it/insights.
