Course Curriculum Summary

The MBA’s first and second years’ fall and spring semesters comprise Georgetown McDonough’s programme. The inaugural term, which consists of the three courses Leading Teams for Performance and Impact, Structure of Global Industries, and Accounting Fundamentals, is completed by students before they start their first autumn semester. The core curriculum consists of 16 courses that must be taken by all students. These courses cover topics including managerial statistics, firm analysis and strategy, analytical problem solving, and ethical leadership. There are more than 70 course options available to students at Georgetown through the elective curriculum. These courses include ones on game theory, applied data visualisation, corporate social responsibility, and negotiations.

Students at Georgetown McDonough have a variety of options for gaining real-world experience while pursuing an MBA through the school’s experiential learning programme. For instance, as part of the real estate clinic, students can underwrite real estate deals. Through the Venture Fellows Program, students can also complete an apprenticeship at a venture capital or private equity firm.

  • Transcript – You must have a four-year bachelor’s degree from an authorised college or university, or a degree of equal standing from a different nation. You must directly upload unofficial transcripts for all of your completed academic coursework into the online application to finish it.
  • Resume – Upload your most recent resume with the data you provided in the “Employment” part of your online application. Part-time employment, internship experience, and the number of months and years spent in each position should all be clearly stated on your CV.
  • Recommendation – The Georgetown MBA application only requires one recommendation. They want to hear from someone who can assess your professional performance, as well as your potential for management and leadership, objectively. They advise avoiding letters from family members, university faculty, and supplementary letters of recommendation. For Full-time MBA applicants, a current supervisor is strongly encouraged; for Flex MBA applicants, a current supervisor is necessary. Once you’ve finished the “Recommendations” phase of your application, recommenders must submit the recommendation forms online and will receive detailed instructions. As part of the online form, the recommender may upload a letter or performance evaluation.
